CURSE THOU, CRUEL IRONY!

Edit: everything is fixed now. Yay!

I completely take back my previous throw-away sentence comment about v6 - so much so I am editing over the top of the journal. IN ENTIRELY. :shakefist: I may have been slightly over-eager in my praisings (or at least, non-insultings) of the new site, but I accept now I was merely happy because this site was once again working for me. Properly. I could finally do what this site was intended for: browse art, without waiting ten minutes for a page to load (incompletely, I might add)... dA was BACK.

And then, mere hours after posting the journal, I suddenly experience A BUG. (Unless of course, it's just my crappy internet finding new ways to taunt me, which is entirely possible. Either way, I'm still annoyed and will blindly continue with this rant. I'm not sure where it's going, but I hope it's somewhere good...) :paranoid:

For some reason, my message page is completely screwed up, and I am now unable to sort or delete comments/replies, journals, deviations etc. from my watch. Which may in itself not sound like too much of a problem, but once again they're rapidly accumulating and there's no point in even ATTEMPTING to keep up to date if I have no way of sorting my way through. I feel like an 19th explorer (complete with hat) trapped in a jungle without a trusty machete to hack my way through... :o

So, the point of all this is to simply say an emphatic "BAH", and that I will reply to comments, read journals, and view deviations at a time this site permits me to USE the new features it provided before cruelly snatching them away. Which could be a long time. WE SHALL SEE. :(

Is anyone else having problems?

Well, I wouldn't say I'm having "buggy" issues with this latest iteration, but then I've been somewhat NON-interactive with it by choice, having little desire to learn the latest and greatest mess of bells and whistles which clutter up the interface and are little— if anything— more than annoyances. You'll find ALOT of support by users who think this latest version SUCKS, including me.

DeviantART's use of adcast pop-in adverts and spyware and bloatware has significantly increased pageload times and the management ought to seriously consider alternatives to generate revenue to line their pockets.(the corporate bastards!) Personally, methinks they'll be needing to do something in the interests of self-preservation, since I've seen enough annoyed people on here of late to have me believing DA is slitting it's own throat.

I used to enjoy coming on here... but the experience is becoming more arduous and it's difficult to focus on the ART, when clearly DA's vision has shifted as they bow to their new god: the almighty dollar.

But anyway, HI!!!! D'ya ever check your email anymore? Ages ago I sent you new ftp log-in info and ... stuff. And I should like to chat it up with you again once inna while, so don't be a stranger, 'kay?

disavowed.
:icondhuaine:
I was forced to browse dA via firefox because typing anything in the comment box took AGES to process a single letter. *headdesk*

As for the devwatch, sometimes I have to delete journals several times before they disappear, but that's it. I hope your bug will go away soon :(

...being so catty.
:iconfijay:
Ah yes, I remember now... that was around the time I wiped everything on my computer (after accumulating far too much spyware, old things I forgot about, and probably the odd virus or two) and started from scratch.

I was gonna get round to it once I got everything up and running again. Then I forgot. :paranoid:

And... um, I may as well just email you now...
:iconfijay:
Yeah, I find journals sometimes keep reappearing, but I'm never sure if it's a bug or someone just updated. :)

The problem seems to be OK now. I think it was my internet after all, and not dA...
:iconcleocatra:
How would you say to Friday?

Do you know when Slava's back? She said something about going to Kiev after Spain but I can't remember the details...
